Bali - Day 1

After arriving to our hotel at midnight, we were told that our room wasn't available as there was a sick man in there that couldn't move and the hotel was full. He assured us that their sister hotel would be nice for 1 night. Thought it must be ok, got to the room and it was gross.. There was only one towel, no fridge, marks on the wall.. Went to jump into bed and there were stains all over the sheets! That was it! We went back to our original hotel and demanded a room.. And we got one, thankfully!
This is the View from Swiss-Belinn Legian.. It's ok for a cheap place to stay.. Close to beach but without the price tag. $50 a night

We strolled along the beach, and watch the surfers, walked the dodgy back streets trying to find a massage or some shops so Leigh could get some sunnies and a singlet. The original asking price was 450,000. We got so confused with our money and it got awkward! I ended up only giving him 200,000k. He wasn't happy with us, gave us a black plastic bag... Leigh threw it in the bin right away so we weren't targets again!
We found some beautiful homewares shops! That could be dangerous!
Then we came across a cute beach cafe called Shelter which is all superfood smoothies and acai bowls, playing reggae tunes in a bungalow.
Then we got lost walking the streets, gave up and jumped in a taxi for 50,000k
But it was worth every cent in this heat!
Now time for a swim and a beer at the roof top bar of Swiss-Bel.

We had a lovely traditional Balinese massage for 1 hour costing 100k.
So that's 10 Aud. we're slowly getting used to the money!

We met a man and his son from Perth that arrived the same time we did. We had a few chats up on the rooftop and he gave us some great local tips. Russell and Jesse Smith. They asked us out for dinner to a local Thai restaurant and we accepted. It was delicious!
The plan was to go and catch up with Lewis and Danielle, but it took sooo long  to get even half way there. There was no point getting in a taksi as the traffic wasn't even moving! We got so sick of walking that we just decided to stroll home along the beach and stop at a few bars.
Then Leigh lost his shit when he heard a Balinese band playing pink floyd. So we stopped in and enjoyed the tunes with a strong Balinese coffee.
Now it's bed time😴

i

i had FORCED annual leave for 2 weeks in may/june.. knowing me i couldnt sit still for 2 weeks so decided to go on the cheapest and most productive adventure.. i got the cheapest flight and went to brisvegas for my first stop! this consisted of catching up with my good freind tracey hannah from cairns who i hadnt seen in about 2.5 years! i also went on a mini adventure to see another freind kylie that i hadnt seen in about 6 years.. she also has a son that i hadnt met.. well only when he was still in her belly so that was great to meet him, such a little cutie!
tracey and i went for a trip down to byron bay for the day! i couldnt be so close and not go. so we went on a saturday and the weather wasnt the greatest, certainly not for swimming! as byron is known for its weirdo hippies we came across our first one very quickly.. he was "mr recycle" he did sound like he was on acid or some very special herbal drug.. bouncing around a puppet made out of cups. tracey challenged him to a conversation that he did not know how to handle! we wandered the streets, ate and drank as much as possible, i bought a little hippie poncho but its super cool, made from 100% alpaca wool in bolivia.was time to head back and get prepared for our next adventure!
that being traceys first down hill race in 2 years! the race was meant to be at kenilworth but there was so much rain that the shuttles wouldnt have been able to get up the acccess rd, so it was changed to ipswich which no one was happy about, it was just as worse with the mud, but all in all was a pretty good day. it was weird however not being on a bike.. all of a sudden i was a no one! and especially being traceys freind, i was a no one.. i couldnt believe the arrogance there! trace tried introducing me to everyone and they simply grunted at me! rude queenslanders! i did make a few freinds on the hill tho, especially with a little pug named penny! it was a good chance for me to practise with my camera anyway.. note to self.. "dont go to a dh race if your not racing" so after all the mud and sliding down the hill and tracey got her trophy and prize money for winning.. not suprising! not sure how happy the other girls were that the jr world champ was racing with them..haha go trace!
the next day.. monday i went to the gold coast to visit a good freind i hadnt seen since her wedding in 2007 and unfortunately has been suffering from a brain tumour for the last 3 years.. it was soo good to see her! there were a few changes but most definately still has her sense of humour!it was only a quick visit and an expensive one as i scored a $50 parking fine by 3 god damn minutes!!
tuesday rolled around and it was my last day up north.. well that far north.. we just chilled at home , oh actually i got sick!so we both had a date with the doctor hahaha. went shopping etc and was time for the airport in which i had to wait 5 hours! not happy!! now i know what it feels like to be a passenger!
so i made it to sydeny town late that night to see another good freind edwina who i had seen in recent weeks! she was determined not to let me get bored and give me a real sydney experience!
we went to "the rocks" on the freiday night to see the vivid light festival and to wander the cobbled lanes, drinking wine and eating good food! was a lovely night as i really havent seen a whole lot of sydney city and it was the perfect atmosphere! being surrounded by the lights and weirdos! the opera house was amazing with all the different patterns being shone onto it.. after a few wine-os it was time to hit the hay! the next day we chilled out and bought a million dvds! then decided to go out for a quiet night out with some girls in manly for dinner.. i agreed to a quiet night only... sure enough it was 5am!!!! although i didnt drink much we were just highly entertained for that amount of time!we had dinner at a fancy restaurant on the water at manly, followed by a fancy bar, where edwinas freind said her freind jamie was coming to meet us fro a drink.. then all of a sudden jamie durie rocked up at our table!!!! i had to have a minute to catch my breath.. i was a bit star struck. she failed to mention her freind was that jamie! well he was a very nice guy! he used his stardom to get us into a club with a line a mile long.. i felt special.. and after a ride in his mercedes!! we then had to get goin on our next adventure for the night to meet up with ferras the guy who played john ibrahim in underbelly kings cross!! we went to their house, and they were the funniest and nicest people ever!we didnt want to leave but we did at 5 am, our faces were hurting from being in sticthes for the last 5 hours! so had a very adventourous night and met some really nice people!! even tho i was on holidays i managed to get 4 days work from sydney to fund my trip! somehow i managed to do one of those days after my 5am nighter! but worth the $$!hahaha
then it was time to say au revoir to edwina and bonjour to my cousins in cronulla! it was horrible weather the whole time i was there! and when i came back to melbourne ... there was sunshine all round!!!!!!! who would have believed that! so came home on the wednesday after being away for a while..and i still had 5 days left to kill! so i caught up with some more good freinds! these ones being RAD!this included bbqs, beers and ugly jumpers!
thats right .. i headed to my local savers and bought what i thought was an ugly jumper.. and to my shock it was actually cool!!i cant say the same for my other freinds tho..just check the pics for your self and make your own judgement..was a great but freezing night..a good laugh thats fro sure!

the next day was my very first outing with my street vipers patch and i ROCKED it!and especially the fact i got to ride with the OG jamie hay! we went to the brunswick velodrome on a very windy sunday.. poor briony struggled with her big cruiser.. walshy you could have left her with an easier bike to ride!!! :)
me jamie and p-rad cut some laps around the drome.. it was tough but fun!got some good pics check it!!! that brings me up to the end of my 2 week adventure!! shit sorry for the story but thats what i do best! it could have been more deatil but this has taken me hours so u better have read it bitches :))

J TO THE MAC>>>>> PEACE!!
